You should Build Category Patch Cable or HDMI adapter ring when you:

• Can't find the item on the website and/or is not a sell distributed item
• Need a standard category cable or custom Adapter Ring
• Believe the quickest quote will win the deal
• Believe the shortest lead times will likely win the deal
• Believe price is not the most important factor
• Do not have special labeling requirements
• Do not have special packaging requirements

For all other types of custom requests submit Custom Quote or Kit request/change when:

• Requesting anything but a standard category cable or custom adapter Ring
• Need the cable to be made overseas
• Have a kit request

Request Custom Quote:

You:

• Create an SAP Quote (1 line min. with 'Quote' as material added to the quote)
• Click on link/fill out the Advanced Custom Form

The Design Center will then…

• Reviews requests in order of when received
• May ask for additional information if needed
• Will respond with ETA (if can't be completed quickly)
• Will respond that quote is attached in SAP. Price to customer listed on quote tab

You lastly:

• Will create the quote and send it to the customer
• If the customer indicates they would like to buy, send a part request in response to the email chain created.
  • If not possible to send in the same chain, please send an email referencing the SAP Quote # to av.C2G.designcenter@legrand.com.

Why do I have to create an SAP Quote?

SAP quotes are available to almost everybody. They create a record in the system in the form of a quote number that can be referenced if we need to find details months down the road. If a quote is started with one person but another person needs to find it later, the SAP quote and attached custom cable quote create a place where everybody can find the quote information.

Why do I have to create a new quote request to have a part updated if a part hasn't been quoted in 30 days?

Prices and availability change for custom part numbers. Sometimes the components used to build them change or are EOL'd. Requesting a requote allows us to make sure all details of the custom part are updated and ready for an order. If this process is not done, it is possible to create an order but it may encounter problems when we go to buy from the vendor or when production creates a production order. This will result in order delays.

Do I have to submit a quote request if I need a part updated or if I need a part that was available in DPC SAP to be created for AV SAP?

Yes, this standardizes the way requests are sent so they can be handled as efficiently as possible. The form ensures that all needed information is provided so we can complete the request with minimal back and forth. The requote selection can be used for this.

Why is Quantity important?

Pricing may be specific to quantity. Quantity helps us determine if our own or our vendors MOQ's will be met. Quantity also helps us determine if we should take something offshore if we don't have the capability domestically.
